Enjoy the estate in a whole new way by becoming a Stan Hywet volunteer. We have a variety of opportunities and some of roles we are currently looking to fill are listed below. Help facilitate onsite educational programming, enrichment activities, and adult/youth learning in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
Introduce guests to the world of pollinators and lead informal discussions along with interpretive experiences in the Butterflies of North America exhibit. ~Offered from mid-June to September only~
Manor House Front Door Host/Hostess
Greet and orient guests at the Manor House entrance.
Special Events Assistant
- Assist with one or more of the following activities, depending on the event: set-up, parking, greeting, admissions/ticket scanning, beverage tent server, food tent server, clean up/tear down. ~Evenings and weekend availability~
The Stan Hywet Historic Players
- History First Hand re-enactors are part of The Stan Hywet Historic Players. Members of History First Hand develop a character profile of Stan Hywet domestic staff or friends of the Seiberling family and reenact scenes from 1920 for Vintage Days and Living History Days, in addition to special events and educational programs throughout the season.
Wedding Guide Volunteer
- Escort wedding parties and guests for various events at the estate -- including photography sessions, ceremonies, and receptions. ~Evening and weekend availability is a must~
