Slow down together and experience the calming power of nature during Guided Forest Therapy for Families at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens.
Join Amanda Essinger, IMFT-S, LPCC, RPT™, licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist and ANFT-Certified Forest Therapy Guide, for a meaningful two-hour guided experience on the estate grounds. Programs will take place:
• Sunday, July 26, 2026 | 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
• Saturday, September 12, 2026 | 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Each date will feature a unique theme designed to encourage families to explore, reflect, and connect in a supportive natural setting.
Forest Therapy — inspired by the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku (“forest bathing”) — is a research-supported wellness practice that promotes mindfulness and overall well-being. Through guided invitations and gentle sensory experiences, families will engage with the landscape in ways that encourage presence, communication, and shared discovery.
Amanda Essinger co-owns Connecting Roots LLC in Barberton.
This program is open to adults and youth ages 12–17. An adult must register and remain with any participating minor. Registration is required separately for each event date.
